Dave

Dave is a forty-three-year veteran of the auction marketing industry who has conducted thousands of auctions across the United States. He was born and raised on a cattle ranch in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains, where he learned the value of hard work and as a youngster, was active in exhibiting livestock with his family on the open show circuit, as well as with the 4-H and FFA programs.

At the ripe old age of thirteen, Dave called his first auction for his FFA Chapter, which sparked his passion for sales and marketing. Over his career, he has earned many awards for advertising and marketing, and he believes that a good marketing strategy is essential for producing the highest returns for his clients. Dave lives by the saying, “He who has something to sell, and goes and whispers in a well, is not as apt to get the dollars, as he who climbs the hills and hollers”!

To add to his list of accomplishments as a professional auctioneer, Dave is also the 2002-03 California State Champion Auctioneer, and he represented California in the International Auctioneer Championship Competition the same year. When he moved to Iowa twenty years later, he proved he still had the right stuff and was selected as a finalist in the Iowa State Auctioneer Championships and the Iowa Corn Classic Open Auctioneer Championships.

Dave and his wife Tara reside in Whittemore, Iowa, where they continue their agricultural roots and traditions by raising and selling registered purebred spotted pigs to 4-H and FFA children, and breeding stock to other breeders across the United States. Dave’s wife Tara is a school teacher in West Bend Iowa, and is the coach of the West Bend-Mallard Livestock Judging Team. At Tara’s behest, when the school was short of bus drivers Dave acquired his passenger and bus driver endorsements and is the driver and additional chaperone to the team.

Dave’s main interests in real estate are agricultural properties and farm sales. Still, he’d be more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect house in town or selling your existing home conventionally or at auction!
